Can Anyone Stop Harry Kane From a Fourth Consecutive Top Scorer Title?
Today, the Bundesliga kicks off the 2026/2027 season as reigning champions Bayern Munich host Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena. And when it comes to the race for the top scorer title, the situation is even clearer than in both the Premier League (read Erling Haaland) and La Liga (read Kylian Mbappé). Harry Kane has finished as top scorer in each of his first three seasons in Germany and is the clear favourite to win the Torjägerkanone for a fourth consecutive season. Last season, the Englishman scored an impressive 36 goals in 31 matches and also won the European Golden Shoe.Behind Kane, there are primarily two clear challengers in Borussia Dortmund's Serhou Guirassy and Stuttgart's Deniz Undav, who finished third and second respectively in last season's scoring charts. Bayern also have several attacking players who could enter the race if Kane, for some reason, slows down in front of goal. In fact, we have no fewer than four Bayern players on our list.
Here we rank the ten players who we believe have the best chance of winning the Bundesliga top scorer title in 2026/2027. The average odds are approximate and current and can naturally change quickly during the season.
1. Harry Kane, Bayern Munich
There really is no alternative to Harry Kane in first place. He scored 36 goals last season, a full 17 more than his closest rival Deniz Undav, and has now finished as top scorer three years in a row since his move from Tottenham. Bayern also scored a record 122 league goals last season and once again enter the campaign as overwhelming favourites for the league title. Kane is the team's undisputed number nine and penalty taker and, as long as he stays fit, he is extremely difficult to compete with.Approximate average odds: 1.40
2. Serhou Guirassy, Borussia Dortmund
Serhou Guirassy is the player who feels like the most natural challenger to Kane. The Dortmund striker scored 17 league goals last season and was himself dissatisfied with that figure after significantly better goalscoring numbers in the seasons before that. He is Dortmund's clear first-choice central striker and plays for the team expected to be Bayern's main challenger for the league title. If anyone has a genuine chance of threatening Kane, Guirassy is the most logical name.Approximate average odds: 11.50

3. Deniz Undav, Stuttgart
Deniz Undav finished second in the scoring charts last season with 19 goals in 29 matches, despite a knee injury causing him to miss four of Stuttgart's first six league games. He also finished the season strongly and was the highest-scoring German player in any of Europe's top divisions. Stuttgart are back in the Champions League this season and Undav has recently extended his contract until 2029, so his role as the team's most important attacking player is clear. Undav was also one of the few German players to have a good World Cup this summer, and if he can regularly reach the same level in the Bundesliga, he will finish high up in the scoring charts.Approximate average odds: 11.50
4. Patrik Schick, Bayer Leverkusen
Patrik Schick is one of the Bundesliga's most proven goalscorers and scored 16 league goals last season despite recurring injury problems. He has previously surpassed 20 goals in a Bundesliga season and remains Leverkusen's clearest central goal threat. The team missed out on the Champions League last season and will therefore play in the Europa League, which could potentially make it easier to prioritise Schick in league matches. 5. Luis Díaz, Bayern Munich
Colombian Luis Díaz could hardly have had a better first season at Bayern. He scored 15 league goals and also provided 14 assists as Bayern set a new league scoring record. He does, however, play from the left wing and therefore gets into fewer finishing positions than someone like Kane, but in a team capable of scoring more than 100 goals, even a winger can be considered a potential candidate. The obvious disadvantage is, of course, that Kane will claim a large share of Bayern's goalscoring opportunities and penalties.Approximate average odds: 17.00
6. Michael Olise, Bayern Munich
Michael Olise was perhaps the Bundesliga's best player last season when he scored 15 goals and provided an impressive 19 assists and was named the league's Player of the Season. He then followed that up with a fantastic World Cup for France, even if Spain made him look more human when they completely shut down the French attack in the semi-final. Like Díaz, he is primarily a creative winger rather than an out-and-out goalscorer, but his goal output has steadily increased. If he takes another step as a finisher, he could undoubtedly reach 20 goals.Approximate average odds: 22.00
7. Ismael Saibari, Bayern Munich
The fourth Bayern player on our list is Ismael Saibari, who is the big new name in Bayern's attack. The Moroccan joined from PSV Eindhoven after a season in which he scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in 27 league matches and was named Player of the Year in the Netherlands. He also impressed greatly at the World Cup. Saibari can play as an attacking midfielder, out wide and even as a false nine, giving coach Vincent Kompany plenty of options. Competition at Bayern is of course enormous, but if he plays regularly, his goal output could be high.Approximate average odds: 29.00
8. Tim Kleindienst, Borussia Mönchengladbach
Tim Kleindienst is a more uncertain candidate because almost all of last season was ruined by a serious knee injury. He is now back in full training and Gladbach hope their captain can once again become the goalscorer he was in 2024/2025, when he scored 16 Bundesliga goals in 31 matches. If Kleindienst can enjoy a full injury-free season, he is the team's undisputed number nine and could very well be among the leading players in the scoring charts.Approximate average odds: 35.00

9. Andrej Kramaric, Hoffenheim
Croatian Andrej Kramaric seems to refuse to grow old. He scored 14 Bundesliga goals last season and has extended his contract with Hoffenheim despite now being 35 years old. He is also a very reliable penalty taker and has been Hoffenheim's leading goalscorer for much of the past decade. His age and European football count against him, but his role, experience and consistent goal output mean he still has to be included on this list.Approximate average odds: 37.00
10. Jonathan Burkardt, Eintracht Frankfurt
Jonathan Burkardt takes the final place on our list. The German striker scored 13 Bundesliga goals during his first season at Eintracht Frankfurt and is an established central goalscorer in a team that regularly creates plenty of attacking chances. He is also an option from the penalty spot, which is always an advantage in the race for the top scorer title. To actually win it, he will probably need to increase his output to more than 20 goals, but the potential is there.Approximate average odds: 39.00
